Although I began my career in the film and television industries—attracted by their capacity to profoundly impact audiences through the use of story—I soon felt the pull of politics and transitioned to issue-oriented campaign work. While pursuing a master’s in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, I combined my two areas of expertise, focusing my studies on the ways in which narratives and media coverage shape public opinion and policy. Storytelling, it turns out, is an immensely powerful tool.
